Gilles Simard is my name. I am an amateur photographer born and raised in Chicoutimi (now Saguenay), Province of Quebec, Canada and living in Edmonton, Alberta for over 20 years.
I began my interest in photography when I was in college a long time ago and came back to it at the beginning of year 2000. I invested a lot in the Olympus system starting with the 4/3 format and now using the m4/3.
I like to take pictures of basically everything (landscape, animals, architecture, street photography, etc...) but I like Fina Art ... with a twist.. I am a member of the Images Alberta Camera Club and the Canadian Association for Photographic Art. As one of the founder, I am one of the administrator of the Edmonton Photographers Guild in Facebook. Finally, you can find some of my pictures in my other web site: Agile Photography in DeviantArt.
Since a couple of years, I volunteer to take pictures for MS Society (MS-Walk & MS-Tour) and for Help-Portrait. I took part to a couple of exhibits organized by the IACC and I did a solo exhibit at the Remedy Café on 124st, Edmonton. My largest exhibit will be in June 2018 at the Jake's Framing and Gallery on 123st, Edmonton where over 35 pictures will be exposed.
I also worked for Marathon-Photos at the Edmonton Marathon for many years and at the 2014 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Edmonton, taking pictures of Athletes running or biking.
I can take commissions for Fine Art pictures ! Let me know what you need and I'll do my best to accommodate you using my large collection of photographs or simply taking new ones for you.
